Dr. Boraiah B is a Professor of Agronomy and Coordinator at the Research Institute on Organic Farming (RIOF), University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK Campus, Bengaluru. With over 21 years of dedicated research experience, he has been at the forefront of advancing organic and natural farming practices in India.
His work bridges the gap between traditional Indian farming wisdom — particularly cow-based formulations like Panchagavya, Jeevamrutha, and Beejamrutha — and modern agricultural science. His research spans organic farming systems, carbon sequestration, soil microbiology, biodynamic farming, and natural resource management.
Through 57 published journal articles and over 426 citations, his contributions have shaped organic farming policy and practice across the country. As Coordinator of RIOF, Dr. Boraiah leads an institute dedicated to validating organic practices, developing bio-fertilizers, and training thousands of farmers in sustainable agriculture.

Research Institute on Organic Farming
Established in 2008 at the GKVK Campus, RIOF is dedicated to developing and promoting organic farming technologies. The institute conducts cutting-edge research on soil health, bio- fertilizer production, and sustainable crop management, serving as a bridge between academic research and on-ground farming practice.
Key facilities include a 5-hectare organic research block, mass production laboratory for bio-fertilizers, vermicompost and azolla production units, a one-acre model organic vegetable demonstration block, and field testing facilities for organic products.
